Aluflam has mastered what was long considered impossible—using aluminum frames for fire rated glazing applications. Although traditional aluminum is not known for its fire resistant properties, Aluflam’s patented technology that combines insulated aluminum framing and laminated glass make it a proven reality.

With extruded and filled aluminum profiles, Aluflam also offers the ultimate in aesthetics. Unlike hollow metal frames, Aluflam's frames are narrow, sharp, and blend much better with existing non-rated designs. Additionally, finishing options include a wide range of anodized colors.

Aluflam products are the preferred choice for glazing contractors. Forget assembly of steel profiles—Aluflam frames are delivered as completed units—factory finished, pre-drilled and ready for installation.

Extensively tested and approved, Aluflam systems are available worldwide, and deliver an unbeatable combination of safety, aesthetics, and design flexibility.

Fire-Rated Aluminum Windows

Aluflam's fixed storefront window frames are constructed from thermally broken narrow aluminum extrusions filled with a proprietary fire blocking material. Window products are available in 20, 45, and 60 minute ratings for interior and exterior installation, and are fully tested and listed by Underwriters Laboratories to ANSI/UL 9 and UBC 7-4 (1997) standards. All Aluflam fire-rated products are MEA approved for use in the City of New York.

Our clear fire-rated glazing is manufactured by Vetrotech Saint Gobain. Glazing conforms to CPSC 16CFR1201 (CAT I & II) standards for impact while providing excellent clarity and sound reduction. Features and benefits include:

  • Clean, sharp lines of narrow extruded aluminum framing
  • Large, wire-free glass areas
  • Barrier to radiant heat (60 minute only)
  • Energy efficient

Aluflam windows are factory finished and fabricated complete before delivery — reducing installation and glazing to a conventional task for the commercial glazing contractor.

Finishes

Aluminum framing designs are available in a multitude of finish options. Consider the following:

ANODIZING

Our basic, but probably the most pristine finish is satin clear anodize. Aluminum profiles are textured prior to the clear anodizing process, which results in a smooth non-directional finish – and the true feeling of Aluminum. We also offer traditional colored anodize finishes such as dark bronze, medium bronze, black, champagne and others.

POWDER COATING

The powder coating process is gaining popularity due to its environmentally friendly character. Our approved finishes are processed from leading suppliers of powders for architectural products. This includes finishes with extended warranties.

LIQUID PAINTING

To meet special specification requirements, we also offer liquid painting such as 50% and 70% fluoropolymer coatings on all our window and door systems.

All finishing is done before fabrication to assure ultimate adhesion and finish quality, and stringent quality control guidelines are followed throughout the process. Please contact us for further information about finishes and color availability.
